The area provides wonderful opportunities for hill, coastal and cross-country walks, as well as beaches and creeks: the islands of Porquerolles, Les Iles d'Or, the famous Calanques between Cassis and Marseille, and the remarkable Ste Baume range where St Mary Magdalen is supposed to have lived for 30 years and ended her days.

Excursions can also easily be made to some of the great sites of Provence such as the beautiful cities of Arles and the Camargue, Aix en Provence, Cézanne’s home town, Avignon, the city of the Popes. These are all within an hour or two by car.
