Lou Capitani is located in one of the most secluded and rural parts of Provence. The wine produced in the area is highly prized, which helps to preserve the natural but cared-for counrtyside and avoid the large-scale development of villas and secondary residences.
The Bandol, Appelation d'Origine Controlée (AOC) produced in the vast valley below and around Lou Capitani, red, rosé and white is quite unique. Much of this is due to the efforts of producers to establish the Mourvèdre cépage (vine) which gives these wines their singular rich flavour, bouquet and a very long life.
The producers: Domaines Ott, Tempier, Galantin, Castillon, Chateau Ste Anne, Pey Neuf, etc. all welcome ‘dégustations’.
